Itinerary:

Lake Nakuru National Park was opened to the public in the year 1968. It is located 157 km away from Nairobi. This park covers an area of 188square kilometers; it was mainly opened to protect its huge flock of the lesser flamingoes and provide sanctuary fore the endangered species like the Rhinos. The national park is home to over a million lesser flamingoes which paint the lake pink.

Lake Nakuru is one of the perfect destination for nature lovers like the ornothologists, sciencetists, and the wildlife filmmakers. It has ecological diversity including lake water, woodland, and bush grassland, to rocky ridges. It is at an altitude of 4000-5780ft above sea level. Accomodation is found in two lodges, which include sarova lion hill lodge and l.nakuru lodge, K.W.S guesthouse, five campsites and it also has two picnic sites at Makalia falls and Njoro river mouth.

It is here that perhaps the most beautiful view is found in Kenya. The sight of almost a million flamingoes together can be one of the most memorable scenes for any visitor to this national park. The visitors also get a chance to see Hippos and clawless otters in the lake itself, waterbucks, reedbuck and zebra, black and white rhino, buffaloes, leopard, the rare Rothschild giraffe, black and white colobus monkeys in the forest, elands, steinbok, impala, chandlers reedbuk, dikdik, rock hyrax, klipspringer along the cliffs and escarpments and several large prides of lion. Several bird species are found here.

"Day 1:
Depart Nairobi early morning for Nakuru. Arrive Midmorning. Check in to your Hotel after which you can take a game drive Return for lunch to the hotel. Take a rest and enjoy another game drive in the late afternoon. Dinner & over night at the lodge.

Day 2:
Take an early morning game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Check out & take the last game drive on the way out of the park. Drive back to Nairobi.
